Clever Leaves and Biopharmaceutical Research Company to Partner for Landmark Cannabis Research Study in Collaboration with the University of California, Davis

America’s Pot Labs Have A THC Problem

Keegan Skeate was working the night shift when he first heard about the scam. The 26-year-old was only a few months into his new job at Praxis Laboratory, a Washington state lab that conducts consumer safety tests and THC potency analysis for legal cannabis products. During one quiet shift in 2018, a fellow lab technician walked over to Skeate and told him that she thought someone was manipulating her test results. She said that the numbers in her spreadsheets looked irregular and the recorded THC potency values were higher than she remembered measuring.

UC Davis submits 19 proposals to the BCC RFP

Despite a tight turnaround time of only 32 days from initial announcement to submission deadline, and restrictions in the California Bureau of Cannabis Control RFP that disallowed several areas of UC Davis research strength, such as hemp cultivation, UC Davis researchers submitted a whopping 19 proposals in response to the call.

State of California Offers Prop 64 Research Funding to Public Universities

The Bureau of Cannabis Control announced on September 17, 2020 a Request for Proposals (RFP) for university research grants for public universities in California. The Bureau has $30 million to be disbursed for research projects related to the implementation and effect of Proposition 64.
